Through our reactor design and machine-learning tool, Sunthetics has demonstrated feasibility and advantages in a model reaction: the electrochemical production of adiponitrile (ADN), the key precursor for hexamethylenediamine (HMDA) and Nylon 6,6.
Our reactor design focuses on ease of use and ability to customize. Our exchangeable inner components enable us to offer the best reactor design for the desired application.
Paired with our machine-learning tool, we were able to, in only a few experiments, operate with a 30% reduction in raw materials and energy use for the same production rate as state-of-the-art reactors, leading to a potential cost reduction of up to 20%.
We are currently moving from lab scale to pilot scale reactors. As part of our multiphase scale up strategy we are currently optimizing the performance of 100 sq. cm reactor prototype - a 100x increase from our original proof of concept! We envision reaching full pilot scale by the end of 2021.
